NHS Test & Trace
The Government has introduced new guidance on gatherings at funerals and our local crematoria are able to allow family members/close friends to attend funeral services within their chapel. The number of seats available varies and where some have only seating in the chapel some standing room could be available in the foyers where available. Everybody must maintain social distancing of 2 metres (3 steps) away from others. Attendance is restricted to members of the person’s household, family members and friends and any mourner who has COVID-19 symptoms (a new continuous cough, a high temperature, or a loss of, or change in, their normal sense of taste or smell) should not attend the funeral as they pose a risk to others.
From Monday 10th August 2020 face coverings will become mandatory. The link below provides details on when to wear a face covering and also covers any exemptions under section 3.
As part of the new guidelines Houghtons Funeral Directors Ltd and all crematoria will be adhering to the new track and trace guidance. If we or the Crematorium have reports of a covid-19 outbreak we may be asked to provide details of anyone who has attended a funeral to the NHS track and trace team. The contact information provided on this form will be passed onto them to assist with track and trace of any persons attending the funeral service.
The guidance introduced by the Government can be accessed online here
Houghtons have developed a form for each crematoria which requires completing and returning 2 business days before the funeral. Once completed and signed it will confirm your consent to this information being disclosed to them. If you would like to discuss this further please contact us.
